The Cooperative COTUCPROMA Cooperative of Community-based Tourism Protective of the Environment, was born by the need to generate employment opportunities to farm families affected by the climate change, the need to mitigate the effects of climate change through the different services of the tourist attractions of the municipalities, which contribute to the improvement of the standard of life of the associates and the community adjacent to the basin of Rio Coco (Geopark territory).
 

An important aspect of the cooperative is to generate human capacities in vulnerable families through their prior knowledge and skills, which has motivated them to develop leather handicrafts, drawing, painting, sewing and embroidery, in order to visualize the skills of its labor-intensive hands and talented, who visit them get remarkable memories.
